Certified copies of death certificates are available from the Spokane Regional Health District, located at 1101 W. College Ave. in Spokane (one block south of the Spokane County Court House). You may also order death certificates by phone with a credit card by calling 1-509-324-1524 or by mail with a check. The cost is $20.00 for each copy ordered at that time.

You May need certified Copies For;

Life insurance. One copy for each policy.
To transfer title to real estate.
To transfer title to vehicles.
To sell or transfer stocks, bonds or mutual funds.
To cash in certificates of deposit (without interest of penalties) before the maturity date.
When there is a bank account with only the deceased name on the account.
May be needed for the Internal Revenue Service.
May be needed to collect union benefits.
